Corporate Profile

The history of Sembawang Kimtrans (the "Company") can be traced back to 1980 when we started our operation as a port operator and transportation company under the name of Kimtrans Shipping Pte Ltd. Over the years, we embarked on programs to extend the logistics capabilities of the Group. By 1990, we were able to take on complicated logistics projects and our services included construction and mining project logistics, project shipping for oil and gas industry, warehousing, air and sea freight forwarding and transportation services. In the same year, to better reflect the extensive range of services we provided, we were renamed Kimtrans Singapore Pte Ltd.

To further expand our business and provide more diversified services to our customers, Sembawang Kimtrans (S) Pte Ltd was incorporated in 1994 as a joint venture company with SembCorp Express Pte Ltd. The move has allowed the Group to tap on the strengths of the two parent companies. Following the incorporation, all logistics related business and contracts were transferred from Kimtrans Singapore Pte Ltd to the Company. In 1999, as part of our long-term plans for the Group, we embarked on our initial public offering project. In February 2000, the Company was officially converted to a public listed company and the name of the Company was changed to Sembawang Kimtrans Ltd.

Business Activities

Sembawang Kimtrans is principally engaged in logistics business. We provide services such as marine freight forwarding, heavylift haulage, warehousing, cargo consolidation and distribution, container freight stations and project logistics. Capitalising on our years of expertise in the logistics industry, we have the capability to provide "Total Logistics Solutions" by integrating the services of our air, land and marine operations for seamless support, simplifying logistics operations for our customers.
